The design
A whole cast of painted cats is scattered across this one: tabbies curled asleep, kittens batting at moths, a ginger stretched full length beside a teacup, all framed by a narrow garden border. At 5 by 7 ft the sampler reads as one picture under a low table rather than a repeating pattern, and the deep blue ground keeps it grown-up. This is the cat rug for the main room, not only the nursery.
Palette notes
Deep gentian blue ground with cream, rust, blush and leaf green in the figures. It settles easily beside walnut, brass and off-white walls.
Where it lives
Sized for a seating group with the sofa front legs on the rug and a low table centered. It also covers the foot of a queen bed with room left to step out.
In the wash
The printed color holds through a cold gentle wash with no bleach; air-dry it or use the no-heat fluff cycle. The textured rubber backing keeps it still without a separate pad.
