The design
Twelve feet is the size people measure twice before buying and then wish they had bought sooner. On the black ground the painted animals and flowers keep their contrast down the entire length, and the woven floral border holds both edges straight so the runner does not look like it is wandering. Low pile throughout, so a pantry door and a dishwasher front both clear it.
Palette notes
Ink black with ivory, amber and rose figures and a dense border in the same palette.
Where it lives
The full length of a galley kitchen, a basement hallway, or the stretch between a mudroom and the stairs.
In the wash
Sweep or vacuum down the length daily; wash cold on gentle when the whole piece needs it. Dry without heat and lay it flat to re-grip.
