The design
On black, the painted cats glow. Every flower, tail and whisker is printed in cream and warm color against a near-ink field, with a dense floral border running both long edges to frame the walk. The extra width makes this the runner for a kitchen galley rather than a narrow hall: at 2 ft 7 in there is room for two people to pass without stepping off.
Palette notes
Ink black ground, figures in ivory, ochre, coral and sage. Black floors a busy pattern beautifully and hides the days between washes.
Where it lives
Built for the kitchen aisle and the back hallway. It is also the right piece for a dark-floored entry where a pale rug would look tired by week two.
In the wash
Daily sweeping keeps crumbs out of the pile; a cold gentle cycle with no bleach handles the rest. Dry without heat so the rubber backing stays flat.
