The design
This line is painted rather than drawn: soft dabs of color that suggest a meadow at dusk without ever resolving into a single flower. On the beige ground the effect is quiet and slightly misty, with a fine printed border holding the edges. In a 6 ft runner the brushwork becomes a drift down the floor, and because nothing repeats, footprints and shadows disappear into it.
